Swimwear Care Instructions

Sunnyside Swimwear Care Instructions
Swimsuits are expensive and learning how to take care of your investment will keep you looking great all season!

    - Handwash the swimsuit prior to the first wear to set the colors
    - After wearing the swimsuit rinse off any visible salt or debris, after rinsing out the suit you must hand wash your suit. Plain water does not remove all the salt or chlorine.

-Fill the sink with water and add just a tablespoon or less of mild liquid detergent.
Don't use powders because they may not dissolve completely or rinse away well.

-Turn your swimsuit inside out. Swish for several minutes and then rinse well. Gently squeeze - don't wring - the water out of the fabric.

-Spread your suit flat to dry in a spot out of direct sunlight. The UV rays from the sun can both fade and break down the fibers in your suit.
    - Make sure that ALL body and suntan oils are removed from the swimsuit. If not, these oils will destroy the elasticity of the swimsuit!
    - Don't leave the suit soaking overnight, bundled, wadded up, or rolled in a towel. This will cause the colors to bleed.
    - Don't use Woolite, bleach, or dry the swimsuit in a dryer. All will destroy the elasticity of the suit.

2015 Swimwear Fashion Trends

2015 SWIMWEAR FASHION

Hibiscus Crop Top Tankini

This coming year's Swimwear will bring in a new wave of large beautiful prints as it makes the transition from runway designs to swimsuits fitted for the active beach goer. You will see versatility and structure being just as important as the color and pattern choice. More focus will be put on lengthening torsos, minimizing large bustlines, and high waist bottoms that make your hips and mid drift pop.

Halter style swimwear and banded bottoms that can be rolled up at the waist will be popular at the beach this year, and they are the perfect combination for lounging at the pool while on vacation at your favorite resort.

Benefits and examples of Nylon/Lycra fabric

Here are three examples of Nylon/Lycra fabric.

Nylon/Lycra Fabric is preferred by most quality swimwear manufactures because the Lycra blend fabrics have many advantages.

This article is going to highlight a few of those benefits to help you make a more informed decision when buying your next swimsuit.

First before we get started, stay away from cotton! It is very rare that you will find a good swimwear manufacture that will use cotton in there swimsuits. Cotton absorbs water, doesn't stretch, and most importantly it will not hold up in chlorine.

The Nylon/Lycra Blend:
Nylon is lightweight, non-absorbent, extremely strong, and dries very fast. Making a swimsuit made with Nylon blended Lycra, a durable, form fitting, and fast drying fabric.

Why is Nylon/Lycra fabric important to quality swimwear?
The term Lycra is the trade make name for Spandex and has become a name of reference for stretch fabric containing spandex. This is what gives a high quality swimsuit the support, figure shaping, and snug body hugging fit. You desire the most in a swimsuit. Lycra also absorbs coloring dyes very well, giving you that bright, brilliant color your looking for. However Lycra is not very strong, making the reason for blinding it with other fabric very important.

Heath Benefits:
Nylon/Lycra fabric also blocks harmful UV rays. Depending on the percentage of the blend it will block 80-100% of ultraviolet rays.

Pictured are three examples of Nylon/Lycra swimsuits. These swimsuits can be viewed at Sunnyside Swimwear, along with a full selection of bikinis, tankinis, one piece swimsuits and swim dresses.
